Bystiv, a small village west of L’viv almost directly on the border with Poland. The villagers go into Poland to take the train back into Ukraine.

(The recipe used in making “Billashe” will be translated – both for the pastry portion and for the filling to make the peroshie. When this is done and kitchen tested I will post it in the “World’s Best Borsch” section.)

Stryi

This town in Western Ukraine is the spiritual home and emotional center of ukraineorphans.net
