Opening page of a suite dedicated to Ukrainian Children. It is comprised of four additional pages. They are:

Ukraine Street Children

Ukraine Orphans, Orphanages, Internats and other Special Schools

Ukraine Children with Severe Special Needs

Adopt Ukraine Orphans

All are linked together at the bottom of every page in the Ukraine Children Suite and all have a link to Home.

These are twenty dollar pages - any contributions you make to any organization shouldn't exceed twenty dollars. Why? Of course the need is great, but you also have personal needs.

Twenty dollars from a few thousand of us will make a big difference.  ukraineorphans.net does not ask for or accept money.

The size of the need is hard to estimate - reliable numbers don't seem to be available but 104,000  Ukrainian children living in orphanages and institutions of various kinds is a researched and informed estimate that I trust. This is of January 16, 2008.

For street children one hundred thousand to one hundred and thirty thousand (100,000 - 130,000) is a common estimate.

What is very clear is that the state can not cover the legitimate expenses of caring for these children.
