An orphan speaks
An orphan speaks

An orphan speaks to those who have ears to hear and eyes to see.

.

Ask an orphan what they most wish for. Those who can speak will tell you family. Those who can not speak will tell you with their desperate hungry eyes, family.

No child becomes an orphan by choice.  No child wants to be alone in the world.  Whether they are old enough to understand their status, or still in their cribs eagerly waiting for some affection, these kids want a Mom and a Dad more than anything else.

Across the ocean, thousands of families are ready to open up their hearts and homes to these same kids.  We want to help them find each other.

Adopting a child - just like giving birth - is a life time commitment to love, cherish, care, worry, protect, guide, teach, support... The list goes on and on.  It is not easy being a parent under any circumstances.

It is even more difficult being an adoptive parent, as world bureaucrats require you to prove your worth through strenuous evaluation process and tedious adoption procedures.

Taking the adoption route takes strength, fortitude and bottomless love.  It involves ever-changing laws and regulations of at least two countries.  It involves travel abroad to a foreign-speaking country.  Most importantly, it involves enormous emotional commitment throughout the entire adoption process.

We salute all parents who take this road less traveled.  We thank you for the honor of helping you on this journey.

About a Child

…making dreams come true for one orphan at a time

“Most orphanages don’t have children closets. Slim lockers contain all earthly possessions of an orphan – a change of clothes for a day, school books if any, and someone lucky may have a photo or two from their ‘past life’.

“But it does not stop orphans from dreaming of ‘real presents’. A doll, a bicycle, a new dress, they all mean so much to kids with nothing of their own. Every little wish coming true is already a miracle.”

Please click on the photo and stop in at their Sponsorship tab. Take a look at the Fairy’s Desk. Maybe you can join me in a very small spot at the desk for some struggling out of the way orphanage in
Ukraine.

A partner with About a Child in finding homes for Down Syndrome Orphans.

“Reece’s Rainbow is dedicated to rescuing orphans abroad with Down syndrome. The ugly truth of the matter is that once these children reach a certain age, especially growing up in institutional/orphanage settings, they get to a point where they are no longer likely to be adopted.”

If I said Georgia Bulldogs would you relate that to American football or to Ukrainian orphans. I would have said football sure, no way orphans.

If I said watch the sports network, ESPN, would you expect to see a video clip about Ukraine orphans adoption? Neither would I.

Please click on the photo of a Bulldog running back in action and watch this absolutely inspirational five minute video clip. You will be as surprised as I am.

“These are images of many of the orphans I met on a mission trip to
Ukraine. The statistics of their future is heartbreaking. More video is available on our website at Kristinas Hope dot com.”

Before going any further I suggest a four minute and two second investment in watching this YouTube video clip.

Christina

“A video we shot with the help of Hope for Orphans of the World regarding our desire to adopt this beautiful Ukrainian girl,” (5gullys).

Christina was 15 when the YouTube clip was made. She had been crushed by an American woman who had written to her for two years promising adoption – then silence. This was Christina’s last chance as she would age out of the orphanage at 16.
